About me

Ioana PREDA, CTA-P

I trained as a Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist between 2006 and 2013, and qualified in 2013. In 2018 I attended the first Immersion Course held in London by Diana Fosha PhD, thus beginning my journey with AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy). I have completed Essential Skills 1 in 2022-2023 and I am now a level 2 AEDP therapist, and plan on continuing to certification.

I have about 15 years of experience working as a psychotherapist, in Romania and the United Kingdom, in the NHS, NGO’s and the private sector. I have specific experience of working with clients who have experienced early developmental trauma, discrimination and physical and sexual abuse.

My clients come from a wide range of racial and cultural backgrounds and I work affirmatively with people of various sexual and gender identities. I have particular interest in how culture and individual family history shape our mind and influence our perception of what it is possible for us, our subsequent life-choices and potential for healing.

I am an active member of the Transactional Analysis community and AEDP community and I appreciate what other therapeutic modalities have to offer for our understanding and practice of psychotherapy.

Historically I held various organizational roles for the United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis, such as member of the Ethics and Professional Practice Committee and founding member of the Diversity and Social Responsibility Committee.
